I am going to look at a 135 massey ferguson on sat.The man said there wasn't a serial number the tag has been torn off.Is there any other way to determine the year,i think they were made from 1965-1974.I think he wants to much for it.4,000.00 is the least he will take for it,no equipment included.I live in north carolina. Thanks in advance.Bob.

I just bought ( yesterday ) a Massy Ferguson 135. It is in very good condition & runs real good. I got the tractor, a 16 ft tandem axle trailer, which pulls the tractor very well behind my half ton truck, a 6 ft heavy duty bush hog, and a 5 ft medium grade straight blade. I felt that I paid to much too but, I got all this for $4000. Good luck on your purchase....

Hi, my name is Shawn. I am looking for a bucket loader for a 1971 Massey Ferguson.

A general age test is to look at the shifting knobs. If they are round it is an earlier model. If they are somewhat funnel shaped, it is a later model. In my opinon, $4000.00 is somewhat high for a gas in any condition other than excellent. It is a great price for a diesel in good or better condition. I think overall condition is more imoprtant than age, also a firm price of $4000.00 might change if a seller were to be looking at 35 $100 bills. Good luck, David

Yes, by looking in the factory MF-135 parts book and comparing what is on the subject tractor to what you see in the catalog you can get real close to determing which you have, ie early or late production. The factory catalog has excelent illustrations for such comparisons. You should not have any problems determing which replacement part (parts) you might need.

might be hard to tell the exact year. if it is a gas, the first couple years had 4cyl continental engines, after that a 3cyl. perkins gas. all the diesels were 3cyl. perkins. the later ones also had sqaired fenders, i have a 69 model it has clamshell fenders. as far as the price i think it's in the ballpark if everything works. i hope this helps you out, good luck.
