Hi folks,

I have seen some MF industrial brochures on eBay for MF loader crawlers. Did MF make these themselves, or ?

I am curious about their history, as I have never seen them in Norway. I have only seen the MF 50 tractor, and some wheel loaders.
The rest of the MF industrial history is unknown to me.

I guess I should have bought the book about it.

Bill

Yes they made their own. They bought Landini in Italy that made crawlers. MF had an extensive line of industrial equipment. I've heard that one of their bad decissions was buying Hanomag and that helped to destroy the industrial line. Most of their line was top of the line and ahead of its time. MF had the first integrated backhoe loader in the world. MF had bought Davis that built loaders and a bunch of other companies in order to get into the industrial market. I think it's sad they aren't in the industrial business anymore. There is a book called the world wide guide to MF industrial and construction machinery. It's a very good book. A few errors but still very informative. Dave

The ICM stood for Industrial and Construction Machinery. My old neighbors 450S excavators also said MF ICM on the serial number plate. The ICM division was established in 1966. "The acquisition of Landini in Italy gave MF its first access to crawler tractors with the first industrial crawler being produced in 1963." Dave
