I am in the process of restoring a Ferguson F40 Ser. No. SGM406325 I beleive it is an early 1957 Model. It currently has the lights on the rear fenders. Is this common? Any of the pictures I have seen they were on the front? Thanks for taking time to read this.

Alan:

I also looked at different F40's and all I saw had lights on front side of hood.

Could this tractor at one time had a loader installed. Many times they move the lights to fenders so loader will clear hood of tractor and to see better.

Is yours a wide front end or narrow?

I have a neighbor that has a full set of cultivators that I believe would fit this tractor. He owned a Ferguson 50 narrow front end and the cultivator were for that tractor, sold tractor, but did not sell cultivators.

Did you see this site? registry of your F40

My tractor has a wide front end, and I did find an owners manual for the F40 and when ordering this tractor different lighting options were available. Looks like the rear fender option is one of them. I know my front end looks like it never had lights mounted on the sheet metal. On the cultivators did the full set of cultivators fit both wide and narrow front end? I might be interested finding a set sometime. Thanks for the response.---Alan

Is he wanting to sell the cultivators? If so, let me know how to make contact. I'm VERY interested.

Bill
