Acording to the '59 parts book, there was a different head for the lp44. the gas and kero tractors used a head with the part# 1 004 598 m91 the propane part#was:1 004 985 m91
the lp head had different valves, I don't know if they where bigger. if you want the 44 to breath better, you must remove the shrouding around the intake valve. the"swirl/chamber" really chokes the engine. then deck the head to gain your compression back--good luck

Not really. As far as I know, they used the gasoline head and raised the compression using different pistons. No big valves here! :-) I assume you are looking at doing this for pulling purposes like the Farmall 'M' guys do(?) If so, you can mill a Massey head at least 100 thousands and I have heard of people going up to 150 thousands +. You can also get domed pistons from lots of different places. This will increase your compression without a huge search.
