I have a A248 with 40 hr. on rebuild Preasure runs high and oil wii splater out dip stik if you take it out when runng. What might be my problem?

if it dosent blow the dipstick out on its own it is ok . its normal for the majority of diesels to blow oil out the dipstick if you pull it while its running good luck

as what gerald said not true - this engine would not have run 1 minute not yet 40 hrs if the brg. oil holes are not lined up, referring to camshaft.

Is your breather tube clear? If it isn"t, pressure can build in the crankcase and cause the oil mist in the crankcase to blow out.

i would check if your oil gauge is not at fault first with a master gauge, they read higher when they age. also is the oil coming out of the dipstick hole caused by blowby, caused maybe because the engine is not run in, rings not bed into cylinders perhaps? cheers for now. sibby.

Its possible oil holes in bearing inserts aren't lined up with holes in the rods and block, including the camshaft. That can cut off oil to the head too.

Likely the oil pressure regulator plunger is sticking in its bore, that's the first place to check.
