My brother has an old Massey Ferguson industrial tractor with a foot pedal shuttle transmission. I don"t know the indentation number, it has long ago disappeared. It seems to go in reverse ok, but going forward is another thing. Very slow on going forward and if going up a slight hill, the transmission stops. Won"t go. Can anyone help? Thanks, Basil

Basil, It is probably a 204 or 205 if diesel. Be
sure the foot pedal linkage, spring, and especially the little rocker shaft that goes into
the housing move freely. That little rocker shaft
pivots only slightly and used to almost "freeze"
in the housing. Tho the exterior pedal has a zerk
to grease, the rocker shaft has none. Use spray
lube as you rotate it back and forth. Next I'd
check the screen filter. The main mechanism seldom gave a problem. Chuck
