I am looking for a used loader to put on my MF 165 tractor. What brands will fit without making a lot of modifications? I'm thinking I will need to buy a double spool control valve as I don't like the factory one on my tractor. I've been told the factory hydraulics are slow. I don't really need a lot of speed. Can I get buy with them or do I need to buy a pump also? Anybody out there have a MF 165 with a loader? Any advice appreciated.

Hi, Have 1974 with a MF 230(I think thats the number) loader that my Dad bought new in 1974. It has an auxilary pump inside differential case + double spool valve mounted on the loader frame. Also has oil coiler in the grill. Have seen one's at auctions that run off the main pump, they are very slow. Bill

Allied made a loader for the 65 and 165, with no modifications required other than adding the control valves. Well designed, compact, and very durable (I have one on my 65). There should still be a few of them around. Info on current Allied loaders at:

www.buhler.com/sitefiles/index1.htm

Factory hydr. is slow, but strong. A neighbour added a front pump for his loader, and it is a lot faster. Big Dean provided me with some very helpful information on adding such a front pump, which requires some modifications to the steering. Hope to get around to doing it some day.

The Factory hyds. will do the job. Dad has a 165 w/MF quick hitch loader, and lifts 1500lb. bales easily, has stock front axle/tires, but has also broken the front casting by driving to fast over bumps. The loader attaches to the midship cultivator 3" pins and a bracket on the front casting.

one of our 165's came with a farm we brought, the previous owner built his own loader on to it and mounted a hydralic pump to the front of the motor.....and an external resiviour under the floor boards

dunno how or what or why

but it is a geat setup..... brilliant tractor

the tractor will break before the loader though!

.....we also carry a concrete block on the back for weight....all up she weighs 4.66tonnes....

only suggestion is make sure you have a full length subframe which goes to the rear axle..... and it maybe worth considering flotation front tires (the steering was never designed for heavy loads)

Are you still looking for a loader re mf 165?

I have just bought an original complete 165 with genuine full mf power loader attached.

the Tractor was registered in 1974 and has been on the same farm from new.

It has only done 2000 hrs and is totally original.

I do not have much use for the loader so will probably wish to sell it .

It consists of : Full Loader Complete spool block Hydrolic Tip Quick Release bucket Quick Release fork.
If any use let me know cheers!!!
