Why might my UTU have two different size spark plugs? Could it mean one of the heads was changed? Thank you in advance.

I had a '49 UTU with the same thing. The stock heads are GE30E. I found out that one of the heads had cracked and the previous owner replaced it with a 10A4209 UB Head. It worked fine, but I was sure surprised the first time I changes plugs and just about lost one through the hole.

Probably. If you check the casting numbers, the one with 7/8" thread plugs will probably start with GE30 the number on the other head will probably start with 10A. If you want to compare compression ratios, go to Jeremy Fiorelli's Twin city and MM website. (Do a search for it: The URL address is huge.)
