HELP It won't start

Hey Everyone
I'm Sorry for the dumb questions but.....My UTS will start and run for about three seconds and that is it. Is it supposed to be gravity feed gas or is there supposed to be a pump. I just rebuilt the carb. put in an inline fuel filter (the original was a bowl type that was so full of crud I changed it to inline). I did however add a fuel shut off that's not factory. How do I time it? The tuneup specs on this site says it's timed off the Flywheel but doesn't give where it's timed to (i.e. 6BTDC or whatever it's supposed to be) I found the fire order so I'll look at that tommorrow. Anything else I need to look at?

If its hitting a few pops and quitting, I'd say you still weren't getting gas.

I would suggest you check all the way back to the tank and make sure the tank outlet is not plugged.

You're going to need a good flowing stream of gas at the carbruretor. You might compare the flow before the filter and shutoff to the flow beyond the filter and shutoff.
