I have a 1966 super 670. On the top link of the 3 pt. hitch, where the top mounting bracket attaches to the tractor, there are two 1/2" bolts with springs that hold the bottom of the bracket. These spring loaded bolts were to allow the top bracket to float in and out in order to activate the tele-flow on the 3 pt. hitch. Over time, the bolt threads have stripped out of the rear end casting. My thought is to drill out the 1/2" holes and tap with 5/8". Does anyone have any knowledge as to how much cast is in this area ? Is there sufficient material around the holes to allow the hole enlargement and still have strength ? Thanks for your help.

I would go to a parts store and get a helicoil thread insert kit. They work great and this will allow you too use the same size bolts. You will have to buy the set which comes with a insertion tool, drill and tap. Hope this helps CS
