Hello there MM guys. I have a friend that wants to trade me an M 670 for a tractor I have. It has a 6 cyl diesel engine that runs good with no smoke. The M670 is a 1969 and has 3900 hours, pretty good shape overrall but the brown parts need repainted and the lights dont work. The tin is real straight. I think my tractor is worth $3,000 and I was just wondering if any of you guys have seen M670 prices or have a ballpark of what this one could be worth.

Well it may be a 670 but I would be worried about what he had told you. First of all a 1969 should not have a spec of brown paint on it, 1966 was the last full year of the brown paint. Also a 1969 might have a 3 speed torque or a 1000 pto (maybe both), if it has neither there is a pretty good chance it is not a 1969, although it could be possible. If the brown paint is original then you are dealing with a 1964-1966 M670, if it is the "Super" model then you have a more desirable tractor. As far as the engine... the 670 only came from the factory with a 336 4 cylinder motor available in gas, lp and diesel. I think every 6 cylinder diesel would not be original in that tractor. I would check the serial number and find out the year for sure before any trade is made. the 1969 would be worth more to most people then an older brown model would be.
