How much work is required to put a pto in an A4T? This tractor did not have a pto from the factory. Also, will the pto unit from a G950/1050 work or does it have to be out of an A4T.

good question! I looking in doing that myself. the rear pto gear box will work from a 50 series I'm pretty sure. They never had 540 on an a4t that I'm aware of although. Adding the Clutch and levers will be interesting I'm sure. the problem I have is there is no opening for the drive shaft! It will have to opened up.

On mine the pto drives from the drop box and a seperate driveshaft and universial joints.you have to stop the engine to put this shaft ingear. Then theres the clutch on the back, thats operated by a heavy push pull cable.Theres a short arm in the back and a big lever in the cab that comes down allmost beside you when used. When the cable broke I fixed up a lever that I use by reaching through the open rear window.I don't use the pto much.
