Does anyone have any info on a kit that was made in the 60s or 70s that put a Cummins in a G series Moline. I think they were out of Monet. Any info would be great Thanks, Dave

Just slightly off the subject. When helping with the Jensen Neg. in St. Paul, someone found a picture of a 21-32 with a Cummins. Mike

No, I cant say I have ever seen a kit to do that. I have now repowered 4 Olivers to Cummins engines and I have always wanted to try a G series moline but I never have had the chance yet. I would think it would have to have the three speed transmission and not the ampli-tork system to make it work. I would think it could be done, but I cant say I have ever seen one.

I do have a question though, do the three speed transmission G series moline have the chain couplers between the transmission and the over/under units like the Olivers did???

Also how would a G series moline handle the extra RPM's that a Cummins engine would put out??? The Cummins engines wind up to 3,000 RPM's and a lot of the moline engines only went to 2,000 at the most. Just some things to think about.

Shep the 1355 that used the oliver 3 speed did not have the chain connection. The Moline 3 speep was built into the trans and not a seperate unit. The rpms wouldnot be a problem Iam talking about the 855 motor 2100 rpm. I know a old dealer that the company offered him the 504s that they took out. And he also saw the kit at a auction once so the kit did exist but may have been limited production. PS any luck on thoes 900s yet? Dave

I have heard of that. It would be neat to see. The MM Dorman U diesel in England had a CAT motor they used sometimes. I would rather see a Cummins tractor converted to Moline. Moline engines are a step above the rest.

I'd love to have the new diesel technolgy in a 585. Make it run like the Genesis. That is the neatest Diesel I've ever been around I only got to run it for a couple of hours but what an engine. I'd love to know what this new technology would do to the old MM engines.

In the early 80's I read an article which said John Deere Industrial was offering engines and kits in the 100 HP range to upgrade older tractors. One was for a late model engine to upgrade the JD 4010/4020. It also mentioned a shop that had put several of these engines in Oliver tractors. It quoted one owner who said the warranty on an overhaul on his oliver would expire before spring but JD would give one year. Once I saw a sale bill from SW Kansas that listed a U M-M with a detroit 2-71 and a LA Case with a 3-71.
