does any body know what battery is best for a 1954 12 volt UBE M.M.,and how many cranking amps it should need? I have a T.S.C. battery now (f3ee) and it does not seem to start it in the winter with out a jump start. Starter has been redone also and the moter has been redone resentlly. Maybe the motor is just not broke in yet, seems to be real tight motor, but pures like a kitten when she's running.

Not sure on the CCA's on a UB, I will have to take a look in some lit. If you plan on putting a cover on your battery, you will need the shortest one, which I believe is a 3EE. EH's and ET's I think are too tall. Most all the MM models used the 3 EE as far as I know. Hope this helps.

P.S. This weather is in michigan ,and right now it is 8 degrees,it sits in a pole barn with no heat so it gets cold in there but no wind chill at least.

You didn't say what the temp. is there now. All my mo's start better at 40 degrees than at 20.

I have a 3ET in my '54 UTS. its taller and has a few more cold cranking amps. I had to turn it around so the posts clear the gas tank. With those big engines you have to have good clean connections (even the starter ground in the block)
to get them to work. And your starter and solenoid have to be in good condition too.
