I've been looking at an old MTA that is painted praire gold. What color is a 1938 MTA suppose to be? I've heard that some dealers repainted older tractors to have more appeal. the tractor doesn't have enough old paint on to really tell if it was repainted.

I have a KTA that is painted Prairie Gold too. They have been known to come from the factory that color. I had found places on out of the way parts that where Gold as well. When I sandblasted it the coat uder it was the same also. I know of another MTA that is the same way too. People are going to argue this point but I know what I saw. Hope you buy the old TC.

My 37 is still gray but the cast center for the wheels are also gray instead of red like the restored one's I've seen. I'm sure the tractor was never repainted.

On the Yellow hard to say with U's in 38 it would have been really easy to have painted parie gold but it should be the early parie gold. Some of the 37's maybe also could have been gold? There were Z's then.

If you think it was gold paint it that color!

Time will tell if I get the old girl. It is mostly there which make it that much better. you know that was almost 10 years after the forming of MM. what was the offical date of praire gold? yes I agree about the argument thing. once saw a 4-150 white in north dakota that just did not look correct. later found out it was a A4T-1600 with silver and charcoal paint job. the dealer said it was a factory paint job. who knows?
