Does anyone know if the older MM 585 engines have the same bellhousing and flywheel bolt pattern as the newer 585 engines that are in the White's (2-150 White)? I have an A4T-1600 with a bad engine and I can get an engine out of a newer White. I am hoping that the newer engine shouldn't have the same problems with the oil pump and valves.

The early 585 as in the 1350 has the old style bolt pattern on the flywheel. The newer style with the one piece rear seal has a smaller bolt pattern and the crank is threaded instead of bolts like the old style. The flywheel housings aer the same bolt pattern.

I think the valve problems were corrected on the White 585 the oil pump problem will still be there. Make sure it has the external oil pump or get one for it. We had to put one on our 2-150 last spring.
