I JUST PURCHASED A MOLINE AT AN AUCTION.
THE TAG ON THE SIDE OF THE TRANSMISSION SAYS
MODEL A1P SERIAL 10401708
ENGINE MODEL 1054- SERIAL 10302236
WHAT YEAR IS THIS? I THINK IT IS A UTILITY,
BUT WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE FROM A UTILITY AND A UNIVERSAL?
THIS IS A 335 ISN'T IT?

A Universal is a row crop tractor with tall rear wheels. Both front and rear wheel are adjustable, so you can adjust them to the width of your rows.(often tricycle front end)

A utility has the shorter rear wheels and always a wide front end.

It is a 1957 Utility. Information found on this web site under Research&Info,Serial Numbers. As far as the differences, someone with more knowledge will have to answer that.
