I've got a U302 (LP) with a broken crank. My dealer has quoted me a price of $600 for a different crank or $1800 for a different engine (using my heads). Are these prices in the ballpark? And are there other MM engines which, if I could find one, which would fit in the U302 frame? Any and all suggestions would be most
appreciated!

The crankshaft from any 206 with a 3 bolt starter instead of 1 bolt should have the smooth rear seal surface needed in the U302.

Call Wendell Everett @ 740-922-3335, he should be able to help you.

I agree with Havvey. The U302 had a 220 cu. inch engine. On gasoline, It had about 7 more hp. than the 206 cu. inch engine found in the 445, 4star, and jetstar, jetstar2, jetstar3, that had the same external dimensions. I'm thinking that your 220 crank would be the same as a similar year 206 engine. (should be a casting number on the crank that you can compare.)

Some of the earlier cranks had special grooving made to work with a felt rear main seal. Your 220 should use a lip-type seal.
