I just bought a MM GVI it has no pto. It has the opening in the rear differential for it. Can it be added? What would i need? Where are these parts available?

The first thing you need to do is look inside the
rear end. Drive the front of the tractor into a
ditch, so it is lower than the back. This will
keep the grease to the front and you don't have to
drain it. Look at the splines on the output shaft
from the transmission. If it is a late model G VI
or has been changed it will have 1000 RPM type
splines. The G 705's came with the later 1000 type
splines. The first G VI's came with 540 type
splines. You will need to get the correct length
of shaft. I think the R & Z shaft is too short.
You will need a U or G connecting shaft.

All you need is the conecting shaft and sliding jaw and the pto unit. One out of a U or UB and others will work.Just take your plate of and stick the shaft into the rear housing theirs splines that the coupler slides on to ,then put your pto unit on and control lever.

Yes, you can put a PTO on a GVI. I have 2 1959 GVI Diesels; both have PTO. A salvage yard would probably be your best bet. A parts book would show you the the parts that you would need. Jim.
