Hi guys i just came across a tractor that is odd i think i have a few mm's and i saw a U today that was a tricycle front end and it was a diesel i have a Standard u diesel and it has the same motor in it and the tricycle front end one does. But the serial # tag on it was rusted off of it. It is kind of rough but it runs and starts good any ideas how much its worth? How many were made?> Thanks in advance!!!!! !!!

I have seen one i believe to be a udu and the main difference between it and a ub diesel was that it still had the govenor hole drilled in the side and had a cover on it like the G diesels it had the diesel starter phlange so it wasnt just a converted gas it also had the serial number rusted beyond reading.

David you found a rare one there if it's an
original. The UDU was made, as I understand,
only as an experimental model in 1952-53 era.
Production was around 25-30 units. If you had
the serial tag you could know for sure if it's
a true UDU or just had a front-end switch. The
UBU was really thought to be the first diesel
row-crop or tricycle model. Sounds like it would
a great one to restore and show either way.
