Gary, Your serial number (10401410) is for a 1957 335 utility. The A1P model is a 335. B1P's are 445's. 335 Utilities all start with 104 & have 24 or 28" rear rubber & adjustable wide front similar to a Ford 8N 335 Universals start with 116 & have 34 or 36" rear rubber & were available with single front, tricycle dual front or adjustable wide front (round tube type) that were all interchangable. 335 Industrials start with 113 & have 24, 26 or 28 rear tires & a heavy duty I beam type, non adjustable front axle 445's were available with similar axles etc. The easiest way to tell a 335 & 445 apart is the ends of the axle housings have bolted on caps on the 445's but 335's are all one piece. As for your hydraulic system, assuming you do have the old style system, there could be several things causing it to drift down. The 2 most likely things are bad rings/scored cylinder or the control lever isn't positioned correctly when in neutral. From what I remember you said eariler, it will stay up if you hold the control lever back some. To check to see if the problem is with the rings/cylinder, hold the control lever back only enough to make the hitch stay up with the tractor running tehn being careful not to move it, turn the tractor off or have someone else do that for you. If the hitch stays up, the problem is with position of the lever & not the rings/cylinder. If it drops down & you haven't moved the lever, the problem is with rings/cylinder, the master spool is not timed with the 3 point spool or the relief valve is not sealing properly. Their could be other things but those are the most likely. Let me know how you make out. Where are you from? John Kinsey
