I just found a MM crawler loader for 300 dollars. A guy bought some property and found it sitting their. I will get the model and serial number and write back. But is this a good find?

Yes, They are rare. Motrac crawlers are o.k. BUT 2star crawlers are great, only 50 of them built. Not sure on the newer motrac one.

Kevin, Jon, There were 38 gas and 161 diesel Motrac Crawlers made in 1960-1. Yes, any MM crawler is a rare find. You're stealing it at $300 no matter what condition its in.

The serial number is PL 25. It is a model M 204. It is a diesel. It has a PEPCO loader.(power equipment products company) Wilsonville Connecticut. Any other info would be appreciated!

Auctally after looking at it we couldn't find the serial number. What we found before was the numbers of the loader.

Jon, There should be a serial # tag on the side of the transmission housing. I'm not that familiar with the crawlers but MM tractors all have the tractor serial # tag on the side of the trans housing. The engine will have its own seperate serial # tag too. It should be on the side of the block. Since its a diesel I'd guess you've found a 1960 or 61 Motrac Crawler. Congratulations! It's a very desirable machine to MM collectors.

How about a pre Two Star? Built on a 445 eng and trans with prototype differential and final drive. Has Caterpillar D2 undercarriage on it. Have one sitting in my garage right now that my son has just about completed restoring. Hopes to have it done and at a few shows this summer.
