M-5 blocks will work on a U with a G crank. you need to use the U rods and grind the rod journals down. Welters sells a 4.81 piston for this setup. I sent you an e-mail, Andy

Don,
G or 403 blocks are not the same as M5 blocks. Most pulls around here don't allow G blocks on U's since they are taller. The U's that are stroked are running M5 thru G1000 blocks with shorter rods and/or pistons & a stroked G crank.

Don, to get a 6" stroke you need to use the "G" cylinder blocks. They will bolt onto the "U" crankcase. The M5 only has a 5" stroke. The U was replaced by the 5-star and that tractor was replaced by the M5. The engines in all three are darn close to the same as far as gas and lp goes anyway. Hope this helps some.
