The m&w pistons are marked STD. Which should be 3 5/8. The blocks are cracked all the way through on both sides of the bolt hole.

If they are M&W pistons then the STD stamping means they are standard overbore or 3-3/4". They are stamped standard because they also made 3-3/4" + overbores like .040, .060, etc. This confuses many people. The only way to really tell is with a micrometer at 90 degrees to the pin bore at the bottom of the skirt. Most M&W pistons have MW cast into the pin boss on the inside of the piston.

Hard to say on the blocks. Best to take them to your local machine shop for evaluation.

Standard bore is 3.625" - the M&W pistons are 3.75". Any good auto parts store should be able to find the right rings if you take a piston for them to measure.

Berry Cam in Lester Prairie MN has a good grind for that engine - highly recommended.

You say its cracked in the saddles where the rocker arm shaft bolts. Is it cracked through to the water jacket or just between the rocker arm slots?

I think Charlie Biler sells reground camshafts for that Z engine. He's on www.minneapolis-moline website message board all the time.

I am thinking your M&W pistons will be a larger diameter and therefore will not use the standard rings. If its 3-5/8" diameter bore its standard. I think the M&W will be 3-3/4" bore.

Without consulting parts books, I would say offhand that the 16" rim is correct for your ZTU and the 15" needs to be changed out. I think it was the R that could be had either 15" or 16".
