Looked in the photo ads and found this nice looking 335. Has a new paint job, front tires, 75% rears, 3 point, and live pto and hydros. He is asking $2500 obo. He only lives 12 miles away from me. Thanks for any advice, I am a little new to the mo's.

I had a 335 once and it is nice size tractor. It's about 35 horse I think. Mine had trouble with hydraulic pump not putting out enough pressure. It ran the power-steering fine, would only lift 3-pt or the loader on it if revved quite high and did so slowly even. The pumps were made by an electric company in Milwaukee, WI and are gone now. Not parts for them. I put in new bearings and had the sides honed for flatness to try to get more pressure. It didn't work. Also, some of these have the odd size 36" rear wheels. Harder to find tires for. I bought new ones after a long search. SO, if tires are new,and hydraulics are good and strong, that doesn't sound like a bad price. Those years also had the car-like dashes and not singular gauges. These are sometimes bad and hard to find good ones. I sent some of mine to a place in CA that does car gauges and they fixed them. They are Stewart WArner brand and they can do anything by them. I sold mine for $3500 with a rebuilt loader on it, and all new tires, orig paint even with the low pressure system. SO, it depends on how bad you want it I guess. I'm assuming it has a 3pt and PTO? Not much good w/out in my opinion. I also prefer the wide front "E" axle. These are nice looking designs from the mid to late 50's.

With the 36 in tires and the E type front end it sounds like you had one of the more rare types, the row crop model. Most of the 335's were the utility type. Most of the utilitys had 28 in tires. The hyd pump is about the only problem as Agco quit having them made a couple years ago. The pumps were made by Webster on most of them.

Guys, I'm thinking you are confusing the 335 with the 445. Every 335 utility I've seen has had 24" rear tires. It was the 445 utility that had 28's.

A lot of them did have 24 in tires but the 28 in was optional. It is listed in the parts book. The sizes offered 10x24,11x24,12x24,10x28,11x28, & 12x28. The row crop models used a 12.4x36 & 13.6x36. It looks like the utility came standard with the 24 in but you could optionaly order the 28 in. The 335 utilitys we have had over the years had both. So far all the 445 utilitys we have had used the 28 in tires. Depending on what job and soil type made the diference of what size was ordered.
