I would make a decent drawbar and wieght brackets and try it before you start engine work. They are a great pulling tractor "as is" in stock classes. I made a pulling drawbar 20"high that pulls off the large angle iron frame under the platform. I have never killed mine in 7500-8500 lb class. It places pretty consistantly. If you want more compression don't plane your heads but find a set of 4213 or 4206 heads.

I would be careful about using those heads on a G unless you know the condition of the rod bearings. Those heads build a lot of compression and could take out your bottom end. The G has a real strong botton end but to much compression might not be good for it. The G has large pistons and a lot of stroke (6 inches). They build compression real fast.

He had stated his G was LP. Those heads with LP shouldn't be a problem. The parts book lists them as higher altitude heads on a 403. Gasolene would preignite and hammer the rod and mains out unless you ran very high octane. I have 4213 heads on my GB LP and it runs beutiful.

what are your farm stock rules? if they dyno tractors like ours do it's 60hp for the 6000lb. class. a stock G should have a little more than that. i pull my G in 5500-6500lb. antique class, it's .090 over, little head work, big carb, racing fuel, hillbilly tuning,it dyno's close to 100hp.
