Over the weekend I looked at a MM 3 pt hitch two row corn planter for sale by the original owner. He says he bought it in 1950. Everything is there but the problem is the fertilizer boxes are rotted away, not surprisingly. Can they be replaced? Where can I get them? Can they be fabricated? I'll appreciate any advice you can offer. Thanks for the help.

I believe a M-M collector from Tracy MN area had this type of unit displayed attached to his '50's era M-M U tractor at last summer's thresher show in Hanley Falls MN. If I can pull up the photo from my Seattle Filmworks cd, and if I can pull up the gentleman's name, I will send you both by email.

This person has a shop in Tracy and does tractor painting, too. You did not note the state or region of the country where you are located...

Thanks Jeff. I live in central Illinois but the planter is in central Wisconsin. I'll appreciate any help you can give me. I'd like to restore the machine but it will be tough if the boxes aren't available.

There's a fellow named Ray Randall from Tracy MN who had a M-M UT and planter implement at the Hanley Falls MN tractor show last summer. He has a shop in Tracy for tractor and implement painting and restoration. Call (507) 629-4502.
