Bought this tractor last year with the engine supposedly stuck. the engine has the external oil filters with integral oil cooler. The facts are the engine holds good oil pressure when we originally started it with out water. we were turning it over and was just curious if it would start and it did. the engine ran a little cold blooded, but it was cold out side. So we got a hose and filled the radiator. started the tractor and the oil pressure just kept dropping from around 60 to 30psi in seconds. stopped the engine and checked the oil and there must of been 2-3 gallons of water already in the oil. drained and flushed the engine and it has sat that way till now. Any ideas as we get in to this engine as to how all that water got in the oil pan so fast? cracked oil cooler? Bad Head? must be a big hole to let all that water in so fast. I have heard even read from White Service Bulletins that if the tie bolt for the water pump comes loose it will leak water in to the oil. Could that be it?

Did you leave the tractor sit with water in the radiator overnight and see if it ends up in the crankcase. It could be the water pump. Does oil go into the cooling system? Another thing it could be is a blown head gasket. Every time we blow a head gasket on our 2155 Oliver that has the 585 in the crankcase fills up with oil quite quickly. We use it to pull with. The best thing to do is drop the oil pan and pressurize the cooling system and see where the water comes from. If you want to run it again, see if you have compression in the radiator for a blown head gasket. It might also try to hydrolock from the water going into a cylinder. That could be the reason why it was sold to you with a supposedly stuck engine. That would be my first guess, and sounds exactly like your problem.
