I have a M-5 that currently has problems with the power steering pump. Does anyone know where to get a kit to rebuild it, or where to buy a new or rebuilt pump. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The info posted by Mr. Perry is accurate for the early production M5's. On later production the hydraulics were plumbed externaly and had a seperate pump for the power steering mounted piggy back on the main pump. These pumps were much better and could could be reaired much easier.. The Wel;ters at Verona Missouri or Everretts in Ohio could probagly help you.

Is this the same as hydraulic pump above the PTO, like on the 335's and others? These pumps have a steering pressure spring and fitting under one of the nuts on side. Maybe you just need a new spring or the plastic fitting inside is worn. If your 3-point works OK, pump is OK. These pumps were made by an electric manufacturing Co in Milwaukee that is long gone. You can't buy any parts for it. I was told you could get some pressure back by replacing the roller bearings inside. You can still get the bearings from wholesalers of bearings and seals. I got the number for them from Everette Bros in Ohio, where I also got the steering pressure fitting. I also had mine polished where they joined the layers of the pump. It has no gaskets there. None of this made enough diff on mine to run my loader. The steering was fine, 3pt. maybe, but not enough pressure to run the loader on it. I was thinking of going with a PTO style add-on pump, but sold the tractor before I did that.
