Can anyone tell me where I can get cylinder heads for a 54 ZB? The tractor belongs to a friend of mine. He tells me that there are two heads on this model.

Your friend is wrong. The ZB has only 1 head, as does the Z series and the R . two cylinder jugs, but only one head.

Glenn,

I don't know much about MM. Can you recommend a source where he could get a head for this tractor?

Gary, What fuel are you going to be using? There is only 1 head on the tractor, but there are at least 7 to choose from. They varied the compression ratio by changing the head configureation. If you are on LP, expect to pay $300 to $450 for a head. If gasoline, much less, I have a couple of gasoline heads for $100 each OBO. I'm in extreme northeastern Illinois. Thanks, John

A good friend of mine owns this tractor. I'm not sure if it's on propane or gas. I spoke with him today and he told me he had a cracked head and wanted to fix this old tractor up. He is thinking that it has two heads. Do you have a picture or diagram of the head and block you could e-mail me? I'll check with him to see if it is propane or gas and post back. If it is on gas I think he will be interested. Thanks for your help.

Gary, This engine has 2 seperate blocks, is a flathead with the valves horizontal above the cylinders. Has only one head on the right side of the engine. There will be a casting # on the head near the front of it. It will be RE226? or 10A???? If he can get that, we'll know for sure which head he has. John

Bud, I have a list of some of the MM heads, I'll see if I can find a way to scan and send them. Need your email, did you buy it today at an auction in extreme NE Illinois? If so, I'm 5 miles from the auction. We will be at the Oak Creek Wisconsin show tomorrow. I have a '50 UTS LP there, maybe see you there. John
