The MM BF that I use to mow my yard with is getting really tired. I use this tractor frequently and thought it sure would be nice if it was a diesel. Has anyone ever repowered one or should I just forget it and overhaul it?

If you need another BF to experiment on, let me know. Also have a wide front end for one, and an Avery A. Gene Davis

I have a F-12 parts tractor that I am hoping to repower with a GM 2-53 or 2-71 diesel. If anyone knows of a power unit with a clutch I would be interested.

If the tractor's decent at all, I would overhaul it and keep it stock, more valuable than a "hacked" odd-ball would be. There is a couple of people who put a Kubota 3cyl in AC "G" tractors. I've seen ads in farm literature and one guy has web site, can't remember address. Would think alot of fabrication would be needed to connect your trans?? I don't know your tractor, but unless it has a driveshaft between engine and trans, wouldn't think an engine change is in the picture. OR, sell to me cheap, I need a new "head-ache" around my shop, old ones are tiring me out!

I am restoring a BF at this time. It will be stock. It is not cheap to rebuild an engine. I have $1100.00 in just the motor. I'm not complaining as I knew what it was going to cost. That is restoring old tractors!!!!! ! I also have repowered a Wards Twin Row with a Ford Escort Diesel. I bought the Escort new in 86 with the diesel. It had 129,000 miles on it when a fellow ran a red light. I saved the motor when I junked the rest. The WTR gets a lot of attection at shows. It also is a great in tractor pulls. I get a full pull most of the time. I also repowered a Avery "V" with a 20 HP Kubota three cyl. It does well pulling also. I know it doesn't help the value, but I like diesels

I would like to talk to you about your Kubota repower. I was thinking a V1505 4 cylinder would look nice in it,plus it would give it a few more ponies. Ilike diesels better myself. To me they are easier to work on.

Kent, I would be happy to talk with you about repower. My e-mail address:swnewton@glis.net. I live in Port Huron Mi. Where are you? I don't know the numbers of Kubota motors. Are planing to put your V1505 in a "V" or a MM-BF? My Kubota is a 20 HP and it is in "V" BF Avery. It has a 1/2 inch between fan & rad. I could send you pictures of it if you like.

Wayne, the V1505 is a 4 cylinder Kubota engine rated at about 35HP.I work as a mechanic for Vermeer and they use it in some of their equipment,it even had a turbocharger option.I havnt done any measuring but it looks really close. How did your bellhousing and motor mounts line up?
