My brake seals are leaking in my 1966 670 super, I was wondering how much trouble they are to change and if they were a standard seal avalible at a parts store? Thanks Chris S

I also have 670 with leaking oil from brakes area. Oil on brakes usually makes them stick on, and need to be replaced. The brakes are on the bull pinion shafts in front of axles. There is a large round cover there and you have to remove all the brake parts and a backing plate for brakes. Under this plate is several shims to set bearing adjustment of shaft. The seal is on the backside of this last plate. I have done my Jet Star 3's brakes and a 335. Both were about same. My Super seems some diff. There is an o-ring to seal, I didn't know where, fella below says on the shaft cap, I guess. He suggests checking that first. I'm thinking if oil on brakes, they are done-for and need to be replaced. New seals will be needed then. IT manuals have the info and pictures to guide you. Brakes have two discs each side. I had mine re-covered at a brake shop. I'll be doing mine soon, hope it goes well. Best to remove both rear tires and parts of steps to get it all out. Basically a PIA repair!

Before changing seals check to make sure your leak is not out the plugs in the brake bull pinion shaft. On the supers there is an oring on the plugs.
