Talking to a friend of mine i mentioned that mm never built a cat like alot of other companies. He said i was wrong and that a man showed him a picture of a avery and in the background was a MM cat that looked like a R MM.But he grew up working for a MM dealer and this is the only one he had ever seen,so he wasnt sure if someone made it or not.

Hi,

Okay, first off, I assume you are talking about a crawler-type tractor when you say a "cat". Only Caterpillar really built "Cats", but a lot of tractor companies built crawler tractors.

Yes, M-M did build crawlers. MoTrac crawlers and 2-Star crawlers are the most popular examples.

Hope this helps.

I have a mm crawler proto type for the motrac series. How many were built?
Does anyone have one for sale?

Brian,

I have never seen a M-M crawler and can't find any information on them. What years were they built?

Thanks,
Harold H

Harold,

M-M built its 2-Star crawler in 1958 (only 51 made).

Its MoTrac crawler was made in 1960 and 1961. Only 38 gasoline versions and 61 diesel versions of those were made.

With those low production numbers, it's not surprising that many people haven't seen one. I've only seen one in person myself, and it was in a parts yard.

Hope this helps.

Respectfully,

I have a MM crawler that may be a 2star. Like to know how to tell it apart, from a motrc. Can not find searal#.
It has on the hood a drop about one inch with a sceen and a runded front. It also has a scoop. It runs but needs some work.

Thanks Bryan,

The small numbers explain why I had never seen one or even heard of one.

I've seen one MM "cat" in Oregon and didn't believe they existed until I'd seen it.
