How hard is it to remove the crank from a 445 MM tractor 206 engine ? What is involved? What checks should I make, to insure that the crank needs removal and be reground, before tackling the project. The heads, blocks and pistons are out now I was just wondering how far I need to go to get the tractor running again . I'm not trying to pull just use around the house, but I don't want problems in the future. I'm still young(57) and I want it to last another 50 years.

On page 2 of this forum, under the heading "Trick" is a good discussion outlining what is involved with removing a crank from that series of engine.

If you want it to last a good while I would remove it and measure it. The rod throws are easy to measure in the block. but the mains aren't. If you haven't already split the tractor, that you must do. The crank comes out through the rear of the engine!!
