I JUST GOT A TRACTOR THAT I'M NOT SURE WHAT IT IS. I THOUGHT IT WAS SAPOSED TO BE A U-MIL BUT IT HAS G SHEET METAL AND FRAME RAILS AND A 340 CI MOTOR. IT HAS THE BRASS TAGS ON THE FENDER AND IT SAYS 56 HP. IT ALSO HAS THE LIFTING BRAKETS. I HAVENT GOT THE TRACTOR HOME YET TO REALY LOOK IT OVER. IT ALSO HAS THE FOOT CLUTCH SHUTTLE SHIFT AND A LOADER AND DUEL WHEELS. I DIDN'T KNOW IF MM MADE SUCH A TRACTOR BUT I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A HANDY LOADER TRACTOR SO I BOUGHT IT. WAS JUST WONDERING IS ANY ONE KNEW ANY THING ABOUT IT.

THANKS BG

BG,
You've found yourself an extremely rare tractor. You've described a UMIL exactly. There were only 42 made in 1953 only. There was an operator's manual sold on eBay a couple weeks ago with the picture on the front. G grill and front end on a U chassis. I believe there was a picture in the MM Corresponder a couple months back of one of these tractors too. You'll need the serial # off the trans housing to know for sure. You should post a picture when you get it home so the rest of us can be educated on such a model.

Yes, MM made a military tractor like that. I think it was the UTIM (military). It did have a larger engine than the agricultural U.

GTC??? They used the 340 cu on LP. Sounds unusual.
