I am trying to identify this tractor. I thought it was a MM but was told today that it might be a B.F. Avery. These #'s came off engine (left side) 248335 (Is this the serial #) It has a bad valve spring that I'm trying to replace. Any help would be appreciated.

Until mm bought avery, it was a model "R", but later the same tractor got the "bf" designation, for B.F. Avery, because MM already had a Model "r"

The serial number should be located on the right side frame rail next to the tranny case shift cover and will designate model "R" if it's a avery and will have be produced prior to 1952 as MM took over production in 52'and designated it the model "BF" The numbers you found on the engine is just the Hurcules Engine identification plate and may be useful to you later on for engine cross referencing as these engines were made for several applications including the model BG ect...

I have a B.F. Avery with a serial number of 1A046 stamped on the right frame rail. Is there a cross reference between the serial numbers and production dates? This is a three wheeled tractor with hand brakes, and a Hercules 1XK3 engine.

Can you help with owners manuals etc. as well as production information?
