Hello I took the back rounds on a rainy day and stumbled across two very interesting MM combines. Both are pull type. The first one was a "LA" model. It has a skourkleen and has a feeder system; not a canvas. It is equipped with about a 6-7 foot cut. The other model I found (Ironically the next house over) was a machine I would assume pretty rare, a "LN". It is a corn sheller with a two row wide corn head on it. Does anyone have ANY knowledge on either of these machines? Both are outside and rough, but I think with some time I think I can restore them. Any info would be appreciated. THANKS!

I talked to the owner today and the uni-tractor was behind a shed. The unitractor is complete, but he said it needs some engine work and he hasn't used it in awhile. It is a model "L" They had it rigged with a John Deere 42 combine before the engine troubles and he said it worked good. I took another look at the LA combine and found raccoons destroyed the insides so it is shot unfortunately. Defiantly an interesting machine.

Is it a flathead or the later OHV, they made both versions of the V4? May be an interesting project, but keep in mind that most of the guys who would like one have no way to transport it or store it, so when you want to get it off your place, the only guy who is interested is the local junkman. The tractor itself might be worth keeping, someone out there must have a running engine with a shot chassis. Good luck, John

I've been watching this thread. Albert, do you say this combine and picker are on frames with a tongue, so they can be pulled by a tractor?

Both these units are sitting on the ground, they have rotted a little, but they can be saved. Neither of them had tires on them and there was no engine OR pto shaft, which was explained by the whole uni-harvester concept. I will have to stop by and ask the owner what happened to the power unit when I get a chance. I've heard of the uni-harvester before, I just did not know these two machines were compatible with it until now.

The LA combine is designed to use on the Unitractor, as is the LN picker-sheller. Haven't seen too many p/s and very few of the power carts.I have a '53 model L Uni, it has the 206 V4 engine which uses the blocks from the ZA ZB engine, has the LA combine and the LC husker. Are both the units on power carts?

Both of the machines are not on the power units, which makes me wonder where they went. THANKS for the information!

The power cart is a 2 wheel cart which the unit can be put on and run off the PTO of a plain tractor, it has big rubber tires and a long powershaft like a modern day baler or such, still uses the flat belt like the Uni to transmit the power to the empliment. The cart is a 3 wheel STEEL wheeled skeleton on which the implement is placed to transport and store. Are these units on carts or power carts or on the ground? I probably confused myself!

Sounds like you found 2 treasures, what area of the world are you in? I can help with working models if you're in the area of Chicago/Milwaukee

I am in Northeastern ohio thanks for the help I'm just trying to get a little info on these machines. I can't find anything on the internet, which makes me believe these aren't exactly everywhere, so I figured this is the best place!
