How much abuse can they take? I've heard rumors of guys busting center cases while pulling at 4500lbs.

Anybody know for sure?

RT Sense? Park your RT and volunteer as a puller driver on someone else's rig. Offer to cover 10% of the owner's repair bill(s). You will get the joy of competition pullin' and only 10% of the fixin' bill. If the addiction is too strong get your RT back on the pull circuit.

Park my RT??? Are you nuts??? in reply to RussR, 10-04-2004 15:53:11
Why would I want to do that? I saved it from the scrapyard and just started pullin with it in August.

I don't think it's gonna break, but if it does I've got a Case and a Farmall sittin in the barn. Both of those tractors are proven winners so I won't suffer any withdrawal symptoms while I'm fixin the Moldine.

We have been pulling an RT with a 206 b-4 engine bored out to roughly 230 cubes with a hot cam and the tranny has held up fine (so far) There pretty tough. However I do see advantages to using the Z rearend, 5 gears instead of 4 but you probably wont be able to get a z down to 3500lbs with a driver. Just my 2 cents

I am not sure about a RT but I know for a fact that a MM UTS engine will still pull 2nd place in 7500# with 2 rod bearings spun. It also locks up right after but it sure pulls with a very loud knocking sound. Can you really hurt a GOLD tractor?

Augie,
I am about to find out how tough the R is. I am building one with the 206H engine bored out to 228 ci.

I've got a 206B-4 in mine. Been wrasslin with a messed up governor since I got it together. I think I got that sorted out Tuesday evening. Reckon I'll find out at the pull on Saturday.
