In the Tractor Shed area of this web site there is a picture of a M-M GVI. A 1959 model with Front wheel assist. I am a John Deere guy through and through and always will be; grew up with them on the farm and currently own a '59 730 Diesel. However, I am positively INFATUATED with this M-M GVI tractor. I live in Minnesota and want to add an M-M to my stables. Is this tractor rare? I assume that with the front wheel assist that it is very rare. What is one worth. What other late 50's early 60's M-M's had front wheel assist? If I buy an M-M I want it to be front the same time period as my 730 (around 1958 to 1964). Thanks -love this site!

We have a GVI 4wd also. 1960 model ser # 16200862 diesel with factory Meade cab. Originally from northern Minnesota, now resides in our collection in S.E. Michigan. I was told there were approx 200 made. Ours is in original unrestored condition and we've never seen another one like it in this area. It sure gets a lot of attention at shows! The G-704 came out after the GVI and it was also 4wd. Both of these models have full time 4wd. The front axle can not be disengaged unless you remove the drive shaft. As far as price, we paid $4000 by the time it made its way here to Michigan. It's definitely the rarest tractor in our collection of over 20 MM's.

The G VI with front wheel drive is going to be hard to find. I saw one sell in Ulysses Kansas for $3400.00 ( if my memory is right ) in April 1999.
It was LP Gas and in good condition.
