Can someone tell me what the valve tappet clearance is supposed to be on a JTU with the original JE engine?

Thanks,
Brian

Brian,

Clearance should be .010 for intake and .012 for exhaust, cold. Hot clearances are .008 for intake and .010 for exhaust. Hope this helps.

Thanks Jim.

That's exactly what I was looking for. I adjusted all the valves, made gaskets for the valve covers, replaced the exhaust manifold and fired her back up today. She seems to run better but still won't idle right. The intake valves had about 4 times too much clearance. It definitely runs quieter now.
