When Was The Change From 7" Flat Lens To 5-3/4" Headlights On The R Model??? I've Seen 7" On Early 50's R Model But I Am Wondering When The Change Was Made... I Am Working On A 1951 RTU And I Have A Set Of 7" Flat Lens Headlights But They Look So Big Mounted On The Tractor... And I Want To End Up With The Correct Lights. Thank You,
A.J.Peterson

AJ,
According to the parts book the headlights were changed starting with the 1951 model year. 1939 thru 1950 used the 7" flat lens lights.

I believe they changed them in mid 1950-early 1951. That is what I found out on the ZA-U models. I bet the R's were the same. They were still the reflector type but were the size of the sealed beams that were on the ZB UB GB models.
