Well seems like I'm looking for the hardest part in America to find right now. A pair of Cylinder blocks for a Z. Casting # re101a standard pistons. Seems like a dead end whenever I call anyone. Hopefully someone can help.

Andy,
I can tell you finding good blocks for the R and Z engines can be pretty difficult. Are yours cracked/busted or just worn badly? You can get oversize pistons for these engines especially the Z with flat top pistons.

The tractor is my friends and he forgot to winter proof his tractor. Blew the cylinder blocks apart right beneath the cylinder head. We checked the jugs out and they seem beyond repair. I've called and called looking for a pair of standard cylinder jugs, because the pistons and rings are in great shape. Everyone who has a set of jugs it seems has the oversized which will require new pistons and rings pushing the cost of repair past $1000.00. Seems senseless seeing as the tractor was running great before this. By the way my friend is a firm believer in anti-freeze now. Too bad he didn't trust it before the cold hit us.
