I've got a moline U in the shop now and have sent the jogs to get cleaned. One piston was stuck and had to sock then press out. That hole is bad so we are having it bored and sleeved as it was bad. The casting # 10A149A on the jugs doesn't match with the other U's we've worked on. The bore is 4 3/8. I was wanting to know if these jugs belong on this tractor as the piston is stamped standard. The serial # on tractor shows it is a 1952 so I was wondering if this could be about the time the change was made to UB and this is one with parts from both tractors. any information will help. Thank You

I have a pair of 149a blocks with 4 3/8 pistons, rings, and wrist pins. As I remember they are in good shape. If you want them I am in central Illinois.

I"m interested in your 4.375 pistons if they are useable. Probably M&W oversize. 4.25 was std. bore on all U, UB, and 5-star gas/LP.

Alan,
My 1955 UB has 10A149A blocks with a 4 3//8" bore and M&W pistons marked standard. I had to replace both blocks due to cracks and the replacement blocks had to be bored to 4 3/8". Don't know what you're being charged for sleeving but good blocks are fairly cheap and easy to get. I think I paid $75.00 for the pair.
