Throttle Quadrant help!

This is a long shot...but maybe somebody on this message board has done this before. I've got a Jetstar 3 and the little pin that rubs against the throttle quadrant grooves has broken off. Actually...the previous owner had done a crappy job of trying to weld that little guy back on. It just fell off.

Anyway...I need to remove the whole assembly so I can mill the weld off and do a proper repair job. It looks like the only way is to remove the roll pin holding the lower end arm on...then slide the arm with the spring attached up through the quadrant plate. Or...do I also have to remove the roll pin holding the spring on? Has anybody gone through this?

Help! I have hay to make and it's tough when one hand is busy holding the throttle open.

Thanks!

Well if you need the tractor like yesterday here is a way fix it enough to get you by. Just clamp a brace next to where the throttle rod runs better if it is under it, so the rod is rubbing it on top. Then put another one over top of it and sandwich a piece of rubber in there as well. Use two screws or bolts so you can tighten them down a creat a little drag on the rod. Also you can email me a know some one who has lots of Jetstar three parts too.
