I've wandered into uncharted territory here in Minnie Mo land but I'm in search of some help for my dad. He recently reacquired a MM Z(TU maybe?) Its a tricycle row crop. I'm not very good with MM model designations as my colors are green and yellow. All old iron is good to me though and I hate to see any old machinery go to the scrapper. Anyway he had this tractor on the family farm as a kid growing up and then it was sold some years ago. He is eventually going to restore it and is now trying to find out what year it is but the serial number plate is missing from the tractor. He did find a serial number plate on the engine which reads Model RE 61782 3 5/8 x 4 1/2 4cyl. Could this number be of any assistance in putting it into a year range? He was told back in the day that it was a '39, but we're not too sure how accurate that is. Thanks in advance for any help you guys can offer.

Thanks for the replies BMG1 and flamefighter. This is good information. In response to flamefighter the fenders are round top and also the tractor originally came on steel wheels and was converted to rubber.

RE engine serial # 61782 was built in 1943 so it's a wartime tractor.

Sound like you have an early Z they started in 1937 with the engine your got. The newer "Z" hsves a 3 5/8" bore & 5 Inch stroke with a 206 C.I. On the carburator side you should find a plate on the side of the engine. Let me know if I can be of any other help I have a 37 ZTU
