I'm trying to change the lube in the tranny/final drive case in my Jetstar 3. I've got a crappy illustration (one of those "reprint" manuals), and I can't see where the filler hole is for the front chamber. I see the rear chamber drain...the front chamber drain...the rear chamber fill. Is it the plug on the right side just aft of the A/T handle?

I gotta make hay this afternoon, and I'd like to change the lube first...because I suspect there's water in the case. The idiot that I bought it from never covered it for the 8 yrs he had it! The shifter boot is cracked pretty badly. I discovered yesterday after mowing a field, that there was some weepage of a liquid from the pto shaft seal...looks like chocolate milk. I think all this adds up to water being in there.

The fill hole that fills both compartments is the large plug located on the aluminium shift tower. The two compartments share oil but need to be checked at both plugs since the front check plug is higher that the rear.
To check the level, run the tractor a half mile or so then the oil level should be at both plugs on the right side near the brake pedals. If the level is above the front but not at the rear, wait a few minutes then check again as the oil drains from the front to the rear compartments when sitting. If the level is above the rear but not at the front, you haven"t run it far enough.
