Here is the break down on 5 star logos. Mainly the only thing that changes on the three years that they where made is the 5 star cluter and color of it along with the style. There was a few different decals styles and colors used on them and this is how it breaks down. Fuel type of the tractor is not a factor in this with the exception that on diesels it has a decal down low on both sides towards the back the word "diesel". 1957 is the first year and it is the five stars in a row which is the only year that the MM and the stars where together on the decal. " Hince the mm shooting star logo." 1958 is the year that they got switched from that to the five stars in a circle cluster and moved to the new place by the headlights. Also along with doing so they placed the big "=MM=" letters with the bars on each side of them to the center on the side panel. The star cluster had the black back ground on them. 1959 is the year that they placed the words Minneapolis Moline on the side panel. This replaced the '=MM=" logo. It is the decal that is the little word Moline placed on top of the bigger word Minneapolis and the five star cluster was in the same place by the headlights. The only thing about the color change is that they came in two different colors but where both the same style. The options was black and or redish maroon. Now from what I have heard and found so far is that the latest in 1959 5 stars had the redish/maroon colors was done to make way for the newer stylish M5 colored logos in that same color. Which also came in both black and maroon. I also believe that when the five stars get repainted you will see alot of maroon color decals out there that people have placed on their tractors as well and a lot the decal companys don't even know there where black ones out there. Also I must add this disclaimer as well that MM did have their bleed over years meaning that the in between the years they placed the pervious years decals on them. I.E. Early 1958 5 star may have the five stars in a row decal on it that came from the factory. Now this I have seen myself and it is a grand prevledge to see one orignal. Yes there was a very few 1960 models made as well. You can e-mail me any time on the 5-star subject.

actually i have a 5 star lp. The actual 5 star decal is a circle with 5 stars in it that is located above the front headlight. The minneapolis Moline decal is on the side above the engine that has Moline written in big letters and minneapolis written in small letters above it.
