: Was the G705 LP a positive or negative ground system?
: Thanks,
I don't know anything first hand on a G705 and from the other MM's we have had I would have said negative ground by that time but here is what the IT shop manual I have says:
Delco-Remy generators and regulators used on all G705 tractors but they used 3 different number generators and 2 different number regulators- regulator number1118791 is positive ground polarity; regulator number1119270 is negative ground polarity.
Good luck

Wayne, thank you for the response. I'm sure that should
solve my problem if the regulator is stock.

On another problem, do you know what the torque spec is
for the head bolts?

Thanks,

IT manual says on G705 non-diesel models tighten to 170- 175 ft.-lbs.looking from spark plug side of block, starting with center bolt on spark plug side of block to opposite right center, then left center, then back to right corner on spark plug side, then back to opposite left corner, then back to spark plug left corner, and then finish with opposite right corner.
Good luck.
