I have recently taken custody of a 5 Star which a friend and I had brought back to life a few years ago.
We are pretty sure the underdrive is out of the torque.
I decided to adjust the torque as described in the IT manual as the lever did not "snap" in as described. It did "go" in but did not snap and sometimes "came out".
As I adjusted the assembly the "snap" became more pronounced, but the amount of effort was minimal.
I then began to adjust more and am now lost and cannot get any "snap". Is there a procedure to follow to start the adjustment from scratch?
Any help would be appreciated.
JM

You can over adjust the clutch assy. If you over tighten the collar the over center clutch will no longer snap over center. You might want to back it out and going throught the tightening process again but the parts may be so worn that you never get a real crisp over center snap.

This adjust will not fix your low range slippage. That is due to the wear on a sleeve and roller assy that requires splitting the tractor to repair.

MM 5 Star:
Thanks for the reply.
One more question.
Is CCW adjustment as viewed from the operator seat?

I believe that is correct.
