About 15 months ago I bought a restored 1959 445. I do take it to tractor shows with Dad's 1944 JD "A". Once in awhile I'll take it to a local tractror pull and get last place against the AC's Masseys, and a few Olivers.

What can I do to get about 20 more (easy) horsepower, keep the tractor show materail, and farm useable.

I only pulled the tractor 2 times and have little tractor-pulling experence. Truck-pulling I have winning experence.

Thanks MOPOWER. That is something that I"m looking for. Now I"m looking for parts!

I don"t know of any 3250 and 3500 lb calsses here in Mid Ohio. 4000 is the lowest I know of with a speedlimit. Right now the way the tractor sits it weighs 4900 lbs with one pair of wheel weights and me on it.

Also I don"t think I want an LP engine. less handy around the house.

Thanks again!

You should be able to compete pretty well with some good pulling tires depnding on your weight class. For 20 more horsepower look at the stats on an HD220 power unit (bigger bore). 66 h.p. on LP gas.

Take your 206, bore out some U302 blocks with the U302 manifold and carb, turn your RPM up to Jet Star or U302 specs and you should be there! Pretty easy inexpensive bolt-on factory modifications.

Other easy mods would be LP heads, Berry camshaft, porting, M670 carb, etc. This may be less than ideal for a work tractor running on regular gas. My friend dynoed a HD220 on a dyno with larger carb and good RPM...making 75 horsepower.

I will be installing an M220 engine in my 335. Ought to be pretty cool for 3250# and 3500# class!
